The 55km Ultimate Trails Challenge is a testing 55km ultra marathon course through some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the Lake District. The tough, challenging course will certainly live up to it’s billing as the most picturesque ultra marathon in the UK. The 55km route also includes 3 mountain passes, with 7,000 ft ascent/descent along with 5 memorable feed stations.
Starting and finishing in Ambleside, the 55km Ultimate Trails Challenge takes in a complete circuit of the central Lake District, along well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways.
The NEW! 23km & 14km Ultimate Trails courses, utilise much of the final section of the 55km course, for those wanting a shorter trail run option
The start and finish arena will be quite a party, with entertainment, food stalls, trade and retail stands and PA commentary.
The course is fully waymarked and marshalled, with well stocked feed stations along the route. There are some great prizes on offer for the Race, and winners prizes in the veteran classes.
