Windermere Marathon

2018 will be our 12th ASICS Windermere Marathon and we can’t wait…

Being situated in the Lake District this marathon is considered, by many, to be the “the most scenic in the UK”. The race follows an anti-clockwise route, taking runners through Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside.

The race starts and finishes at Brathay Hall in Clappersgate, on the road outside of the Brathay estate. After running through the village, runners pass Graythwaite Hall, and Lakeside toward the Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the race leads onto the A592 towards Bowness-on-Windermere. Participants continue in the same direction until they reach the junction with the A591, which they follow to Waterhead, Ambleside. At Ambleside runners reach the final stretch of the race turning towards Clappersgate and finally reaching the finish line back at Brathay Hall.

…we’ll see you there!
