Welfare Officers

St Bees Triers have two welfare officers, Gail Bone and Vicky Johnston, who attend most
sessions, and sit on the club committee. If you have any concerns, please speak to either Gail
or Vicky directly, or contact via the welfare officer email address welfare@triers.co.uk. Both
Gail and Vicky have completed the required safeguarding adults and welfare training courses,
and are DBS checked.

England Athletics and Triers hope that everyone in the club has a positive experience, so if
you have any concerns about the safety of a coach, official, volunteer, athlete or runner
please report your concerns to us.

Serious Misconduct is described as unacceptable or improper behaviour, especially by a club
member (athlete, runner, volunteer, coach, official or paid person). All members are required
to sign up to the club code of conduct on joining or renewal, details of which are on the
England Athletics portal https://myathleticsportal.englandathletics.org/ and on the St Bees
Triers members Facebook page.

If any minor concerns are raised Gail and Vicky will try to resolve these on an informal basis,
and report back to the committee. However, if any major concerns are raised, these will be
discussed with England Athletics core Welfare Team. Any safeguarding incidents will be
reported to UK Athletics (UKA) via their online form. If you think a child, young person or
adult is at risk of significant harm or abuse, or require urgent protection, call the Police on
999 and/or Cumberland Safeguarding Team 0300 373 3732.
